With 26 years as an established physician, Dr. Leigh Summer began offering laser and aesthetic treatment services in 2008. Dr. Summer’s attention to patient care and well-being is a core part of her practice. She believes in the importance of making each patient feel comfortable, in a setting with no obligations or pressure, addressing each question or concern about specific treatments and goals. Being a part of helping patients feel and look their best is the most rewarding part of her job.

Meet Kristen, our wonderful PA-C! Kristen has practiced in Winston-Salem since graduating from Wake Forest University’s Physician Assistant program in 1997. She joined Dr. Summer at Lewisville Laser in 2013. In her 26 years of medicine, Kristen has strived to provide exceptional care for her patients’ emotional and physical well-being.
As a Master Injector with Allergan and Galderma, Kristen focuses on advanced injection techniques and laser and skin rejuvenation treatments. Her goal is always a natural, youthful appearance for her patients. Botox is one of her favorite treatments, and she’s a huge fan of preventative skin care!
Kristen is married to a local physician, and enjoys the craziness of life with their two incredible sons. You can often find her at the YMCA when she isn’t enjoying time with her family or at Lewisville Laser!
Kristen Murphy, PA-C
This is Katie, our RN-BSN nurse injector. Katie grew up in Cary, NC and has been a practicing nurse for fourteen years. After working in cardiology and ICU, she moved into the field of aesthetics in 2013. One of her favorite things about working as a Nurse Injector is the subtle, instant gratification of facial fillers. She’s also a big believer in (and expert provider of) Ultherapy.
Katie and her husband Wil have two beautiful children and two happy dogs – so lots of activity in their home! When she’s able to carve out time, Katie loves hand lettering and calligraphy. Katie’s also an ovarian cancer survivor since 2012, and her faith and positive outlook bring a bright spark of joy to our office!
Katie Warren, BSN, RN
We’d say she is Dr. Summer’s assistant, but she is so much more than that — she’s more of an extension of Doc! When you have an appointment with Dr. Summer, you actually may see Kristin first. She helps keep Doc’s schedule (and all of us) running smoothly.
Kristin is in her ninth year with Lewisville Laser, and is incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to skincare. You can always trust her recommendations on the perfect products to fit your needs and budget!
Kristin is also a mother of twins. She hails from Greensboro, NC where she studied Marketing and Business Management at UNC-G. As part of the Lewisville Laser team, and as a certified group fitness instructor, Kristin is able to fulfill her passion of helping people look and feel their very best. In her personal time, she enjoys reading, traveling and spending time with friends and family.

Meet Alisha, our newest injector! Alisha was born and raised right here in Winston-Salem, and loves that she’s still got lots of family nearby. She began her journey in health care working as an acute care nurse in the hospital, which she continues to do along with aesthetic medicine. We think working in acute care is what helps her be such a calm and steady presence here at LLA! Alisha is passionate about helping her aesthetic patients feel more confident by enhancing their unique, natural beauty. Expect her to remind you that Botox and radiofrequency microneedling are non-negotiables for a radiant complexion, and don’t be surprised if you see her getting a Hydrafacial here at LLA on her day off! She’s always up for a day at the lake with family and friends (and her beloved 10-year-old fur baby Kaya) and enjoys travelling very chance she gets.
Alisha Childress
When we say Haley’s doing what she was born to do, we’re not kidding! From the moment she got her first “mini-facial” in middle school, Haley was hooked on the spa experience. As a certified aesthetician for nine years, Haley particularly loves working with patients struggling to manage their acne. An acne sufferer as a teen, she knows just how transformative it can be to get acne under control. All you need to do is look at her gorgeous skin to know she’s an expert!
Chances are Haley will recommend you leave your appointment armed with a bottle of SkinMedica HA5 and a tube of their AHA cream. When she’s not helping folks get gorgeous skin, Haley enjoys spending time with her daughter Mya, decorating their home, and anything and everything to do with plants!
Haley Vazquez
Anne is our front desk guru! Hers is often the first face you see at Lewisville Laser or the voice you hear when you call. Anne is the administrative heart of our practice, and her steady hand helps keep the team running on all cylinders!
Anne has lived in Winston-Salem since she was a child, and we’re convinced that she knows everyone! She’s worked as a teacher, in sales at Wachovia, and she spent 20 years as a stay-at-home mom to her three children. Anne is an avid gardener and is working hard toward her Master points in bridge. She is also a volunteer extraordinaire, receiving the Volunteer of the Year award for the school system many times.
Anne Abernethy
Sarah is the Marketing Director at Lewisville Laser. If you’ve called our office and ended up on the phone for half an hour, you probably talked to Sarah! As the team likes to say, Sarah is the “words person.”
Sarah is married to Andy and has four amazing adult children, and has decided she doesn’t like being an empty nester! She loves being with family, singing at church, and anything related to Bono and U2.
Sarah Gillett
As both a seasoned administrator and a licensed CMA, Ashley is a jack-of-all-trades here at LLA. As part of our “front of house” team, Ashley will greet you and get you settled in for your treatment, but she may be a part of your treatment team as well! A self-described book nerd, Ashley loves all things Harry Potter, and wouldn’t mind binge-watching “Outlander.” Her product advice? Don’t leave home without your Prakash Oils!

Meet Katie, one of the friendly faces you’ll first see here at LLA! Katie is new to Winston-Salem but is a true southeastern girl, having grown up in Richmond, VA and attended the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. Katie has extensive experience in the aesthetic industry, and she brings a real commitment to making each patient feel welcome. Katie and her husband Darrell have five (!) fabulous kids from 9 to 19, and you’ll often find their crew hiking, camping, and enjoying live music—especially if it’s the Dave Matthews Band.

Irish is our resident globe-trotter! Third-generation military, she was born in the Philippines, lived in Germany, and served as a Medic in the Air Force in Nevada, Kuwait, and Alaska. She met her husband Randall while they served together in Alaska – and we’re glad he was an NC native because that’s what brought her to Winston-Salem! Irish has over 20 years of clinical and administrative experience in dermatology and aesthetics, and her welcoming face is one of the first you’ll see in our office. Irish and Randall have been married for 21 years and have two amazing boys, Kaleb and Ian. They love spending time with family, traveling, and tending to their two dogs and three cats.
